Sponsorship with a regional and sustainable focus
For Röltgen, sponsorship is more than just visibility, because we want to take responsibility for our region and for people. That is why we are specifically involved in sponsoring projects, associations and initiatives that fit in with our values. The focus is not on reach, but on long-term benefits for all involved.
In short, our sponsorship is deliberately chosen to have a lasting effect and offer genuine support.
Sponsorship as part of our corporate philosophy
We see sponsorship as an integral part of our corporate philosophy, because economic success and social commitment go hand in hand. We support regional projects, sporting activities and cultural initiatives, provided they promote community spirit and demonstrate initiative.
We also attach great importance to sponsorship being based on partnership, so that both sides benefit in the long term.
Regional sponsorship with a personal touch
Our sponsorship activities deliberately focus on regional projects because this allows us to have a direct impact. On the one hand, we promote local clubs and events, and on the other, we support social and cultural initiatives.
This creates partnerships between equals, while trust and personal relationships grow.
Sponsorship with clear values
Not every project is a good fit for us, which is why we carefully review sponsorship requests. We look for credibility, sustainability and a clear connection to our corporate values. If these requirements are met, we are happy to enter into new sponsorship partnerships.
This ensures that our sponsorship activities remain credible and transparent.

The Solinger Kinderstuben
Our first project is the Solingen nurseries. As part of the Zöppkesmahlzeit (Zöppken = knife in Solingen dialect, a charity dinner for Solingen entrepreneurs) organised by Stadt-Sparkasse-Solingen, we donate a sum to the Kinderstuben every year. These donations are used to support disadvantaged children or children’s institutions in Solingen. Because everyone knows that children are our future and should be given the best possible conditions for their development.

Hendrichs drop forge
The second project we support as a sustaining member is the Hendrichs Drop Forge Industrial Museum in our immediate neighbourhood. Run by the Rhineland Regional Council, this museum shows visitors how people worked in Solingen, the ‘workshop of the world’, in the 19th and, to some extent, the 20th century.
School classes in particular take advantage of the opportunity to experience live how the large drop hammer forges the blank for scissors. With a loud roar, the red-hot piece of steel is hammered into shape. Where else can you still admire this today?
Other long-forgotten machines and devices that were essential to production in the past are also on display. For example, the old boiler and the 250 hp engine that drove all the machines via belts. And the great thing is that this machine still works and the children can hear the hissing and humming, feel the vibrations and the heat.
