PS Laser marking system

The new laser marking systems in the PR1915 series not only impress with their high functionality, versatility and user-friendliness, but also set new standards in terms of appearance. Particularly noteworthy is the retractable input station, which ensures an ergonomic and tidy working environment. The system thus combines modern industrial design with maximum ease of use.

In addition, the laser processing system has a generous working area, which also allows larger workpieces to be processed without any problems. This makes the PR1915 ideal for a wide range of industrial applications with high demands on precision and flexibility.

Ultra-short pulse laser for demanding industrial applications

The PR1915 is equipped with an air-cooled 12 W picosecond laser (ultra-short pulse laser) as standard. This modern laser technology opens up a particularly wide range of applications. The system is therefore successfully used in aerospace technology, the automotive industry and medical technology.

A decisive advantage is the deep black, extremely high-contrast laser marking that can be achieved on almost all materials. The workpieces are marked corrosion-free, with impressive sharpness and permanently high legibility – even under changing light and viewing angles.

Advantages of the laser marking system at a glance

  • Marks all metals, many plastics, glass, ceramics and more
  • Deep black, high-contrast marking on almost all materials
  • Excellent legibility from all viewing angles
  • Rust-free and corrosion-resistant marking
  • No heat effect on the workpiece
  • User-friendly software for easy operation
  • Large working space for flexible applications
  • Large laser safety screen for optimum visibility
  • Stowable input station for ergonomic working
  • Special housing can be realised according to customer requirements

Cold material processing thanks to ultra-short laser pulses

Due to the ultra-short laser pulses in the picosecond range, material processing is largely independent of the laser wavelength. This means that almost all materials can be processed, even those that are transparent to certain laser wavelengths.

Another significant advantage is what is known as cold ablation. In contrast to conventional fibre lasers, material removal is not based on heat input. This is why picosecond lasers are used wherever melting, discolouration, structural changes or material damage must be avoided at all costs.

Significant advantages over fibre laser marking on stainless steel

Conventional marking of stainless steel with a fibre laser often has disadvantages. From certain angles, the surface shines, making the marking difficult to read. In addition, the processed areas are prone to corrosion, and the thermal stress can impair the material strength. Distortion is not uncommon, especially with thin-walled sheets. This can significantly impair reliable readability, particularly with DataMatrix codes.

In contrast, picosecond laser marking on stainless steel produces a significantly superior result. The surface also becomes deep black, but without shine, corrosion or thermal side effects. The marking remains perfectly legible from every angle. In addition, the mechanical strength of the material is completely preserved, so that even thin materials can be marked without distortion.

Conclusion

The PR1915 laser marking system with picosecond laser is the ideal solution for companies that place the highest demands on precision, material protection, contrast and process reliability. Whether in medical technology, the automotive industry or aerospace, this system sets new standards in modern laser processing and laser marking.
